CLIC Sargent, the largest children's cancer charity in the country, run a scheme called Practice-a-thon Music where children and young people practice their instrument and get sponsored for it. The idea of the scheme is that CLIC Sargent raise valuable funds for their work with children and young people with cancer and that anyone who takes part improves their musical skills while having fun. All schools and groups that take part get to keep 25% of any money raised with the other 75% coming to CLIC Sargent.
Practiceathon is easy to take part in and fun at the same time! But don?t just take our word for it, here are some comments from some of the teachers who took part last year:
?My children and pupils enjoyed taking part in the Practice-a-thon. Three of them took exams last term ? 2 got merits and 1 got a distinction!! I think they all really benefited from it. I know my children were trying to earn as much money from us as possible as we sponsored them 1p a minute!! Thank you for providing the incentive to practice and for such a worthy cause? Alison Nicholls ? Hampshire
?I think this event is valuable as it can enhance practice and progress and provides awareness for the charity. Please note that we wish to donate 100% to CLIC Sargent? Claire Williams ? Private teacher ? Southport/Merseyside
