Diploma Graduation and Special Recognition Awards | September 2009

Rockschool may not be a physical bricks and mortar school, but we are very proud of all our learners and enjoy live music. To celebrate the achievements of our diploma graduates and to recognise the exceptional standards we were seeing in the grade exams, we held our first graduation at London's Roundhouse in 2009.

RSL Teaching Diplomas

We all remember a great teacher. In order to have great musicians, you need great teachers. With this firmly in mind Rockschool created the RSL Teaching Diploma. This diploma has been specifically designed to be non genre specific and be flexible to offer the candidate the choice to include areas of interest to them. With the practicalities of teaching as its core, the straightforward nature of the qualification fits round your schedule and current teaching practice. With no essays to write or lectures to attend you can work at your own pace and in your own time to hone your existing skills, formulate lessons plans and learn to differentiate between the specific needs of each pupil.

The RSL Teaching Diplomas have been developed in conjunction with the Musicians Union. If you are a MU member you get a discount on the qualification.

The Diploma Graduation of 2009 was conducted in true Rockschool style, combining the traditional graduation ceremony with a gig, Rockschool is very proud of all our graduates and so it only seemed right that the day include an opportunity for people to perform, show of their skills and enjoy some great music.

RSL Performance Diplomas

One of the most important aspects of being a musician is being able to stand up in front of an audience and to be able to perform under pressure - when it really counts. Because Rockschool is committed to supporting and training great musicians of the future we have addressed the traditional lack of qualifications in stagecraft and introduced our Performance Diploma in 2008. If you are a musician and want a career performing, this qualification is for you. Develop the skills required to play professionally and learn how to promote yourself in the current market.
